It’s almost October and I found these pictures from summer on my laptop. Given that I’m still wearing shorts and short sleeves, I decided to post them anyway. The ultimate summery look requires a pair of great distressed denim shorts, and my favorites are from Levi’s and One Teaspoon. They know their denim – soft, weathered, whiskered, and perfect rinse every time. For this outfit, I wore my Cooper & Ella animal spots cold shoulder top with my Levi’s. I’ve been really into these “cold shoulder” tops as they expose the shoulder (hot trend for the last several seasons) but they are less fussy to wear than the completely off-the-shoulder ones. And there I go again with those Zara black lace-up shoes. Love them! With the 2 inch heels, they look polished and can instantly add pizzazz to any casual outfit. And of course, my popcorn phone case 🙂 With all those convenient iPhone apps these days that make carrying around money unnecessary, I find myself walking out the door with just the phone – a reason to make sure your phone is encased in something cute and fun to show a bit of your personality!

I love playing with pieces that deceive the eye. I might wear a denim crop with a denim miniskirt and have it look like a dress, or I sometimes put on a sleeveless bodycon dress and throw on a shirt or jumper over it to make the bottom part of the dress appear to be a skirt…You get the point. For this outfit, I paired a strapless top with trousers, both from Intermix, and the end result was an illusion of a simple, polished jumpsuit. I’m obsessed with this printed bow top — I love the colors, the pattern, the bow embellishment, and everything about it. And this pair of slouchy navy trousers with the unexpected long side-slit is the perfect accompaniment to the gorgeous top, accentuating the hints of navy throughout the shirt while being statement-y all on its own. One of my favorite outfits of the year, for sure. And because it was raining that day, I threw on a pair of shoes I didn’t mind getting wet/dirty: Adidas x Stan Smith white sneakers which played down the look while also adding a chill vibe to the outfit.
